Ever the Same

If this song had been out when peter and I got married I think it may have been "the chosen song" for our first dance together. I'm a big lyrics lover and I just love what this song has to say.

I love you Peter- forever!... Now we can have two song ;)

Ever The Same - Rob Thomas

We were drawn from the weeds
We were brave like soldiers
Falling down under the pale moonlight
You were holding to me
Like a someone broken
And I couldn't tell you but I'm telling you now

Just let me hold you while you're falling apart
Just let me hold you and we'll both fall down

Fall on me
Tell me everything you want me to be
Forever with you forever in me
Ever the same

We would stand in the wind
We were free like water
Flowing down
Under the warmth of the sun
Now it's cold and we're scared
And we've both been shaken
Hey, look at us
Man, this doesn't need to be the end

Just let me hold you while you're falling apart
Just let me hold you and we'll both fall down

Fall on me tell me everything you want me to be
Forever with you
Forever in me
Ever the same
Call on me
I'll be there for you and you'll be there for me
Forever it's you
Forever in me
Ever the same

You may need me there
To carry all your weight
But you're no burden I assure
You tide me over
With a warmth I'll not forget
But I can only give you love

Fall on me tell me everything you want me to be
Forever with you
Forever in me
Ever the same
Call on me
I'll be there for you and you'll be there for me
Forever it's you
Forever in me
Ever the same

Forever with you
Forever in me
Ever the same(Ever the same)

And your friends are my friends...

So, we drove out to Great Lakes Crossing today to meet with one of "mommy's" friends, Jacie, who happens to have two little boys, Jaden, 4 1/2 and Alec, 1 1/2. I love that at this age, whatever kids we see Matt and Kayla happily play with them. By the end of the trip, the three little one's were goofing around and laughing together- having the time of their lives.

We hung out in the kids area for quite a long time, although I had to hold Matt a lot of the time (he doesn't like being in huge groups of kids). Regardless, I was able to catch up with Jacie, and have some adult conversation-- which actually does wonders for the rest of my week with the kids. After playing, we got lunch then went into a few stores. A little bit of a crazy thing to do, but I still managed to pick out a pair of jeans for matt (for the end of summer/fall) and a new baseball hat (many of his are now too small). The day went so well, that we're going to try to get together at least once a month.

Well, the kids are currently napping (both were asleep before we left the parking lot) and I'm hoping to be able to accomplish some things before daddy gets home this evening.

MEGA Monday

Well, its one of those Monday’s where daddy's gone ALL of matt and Kayla’s day. These days are typically the days that make "mom" feel like she's going crazy, although today's not been too bad.

Kayla woke me up this morning, as I heard her clanging around in the kitchen. She was sitting on the table eating "pretzies" (pretzels). I asked her why she didn't come wake me up- she pointed to her food, and said eat. Apparently, she was hungry.

Fast forward about 10 minutes, and I decide we might as well wake up matt, so they can go back down for their naps at the same time. I send Kayla into Matt’s room to wake him up and run to the bathroom real quick. By the time I get back into Matt's room Kayla has removed her diaper and is laying on a clean one with a wipe "helpin". It probably won't have been that bad, had the previous diaper just been wet. ;) After cleaning up that mess and bathing the kids it was on to the next adventure.

Seeing as Kayla woke me up, I didn't get a chance to get ready. So I put a veggie tales video on, locked the kids into the playroom and told them mommy would be right back. With no complaints I jumped into the shower and took the world’s fastest shower... I jumped out and with my towel still on went to check on the kids before getting dressed. I walk towards the playroom and feel a very cool breeze, only to find my perfect angels sitting in front of the sliding back door WIDE open- and a few of their toys out in the snow. I quickly shut the door, relock the deadbolt that matt has figured out how to unlock, and gave the kids instructions to play until I got dressed. Less than 5 minutes passed before I came back, and low and behold, the door had magically opened again.

Hum, not much else has happened this morning. Unless you count Matt falling off his "big boy bike" (in the basement) and getting wedged between the bike and the couch-- "tuck, me tuck" I heard him yelling as I was switching the laundry from the washer to the dryer. And while I was making lunch he got stuck with one leg in Kayla's grocery cart. That was about it for the morning activities.

Well, the kids have been sleeping since about 1:15ish, and I've actually been able to accomplish a ton. This evening Anna and Keely might come by, or maybe we'll go grocery shopping. Only about 6 more hours until Peter gets home... Yea!

Well, I tried to post a picture, but it doesn't seem to want to work... I'll try again later.

Wow, What a day!

Today has been quite a day. After waking up this morning later than I had hoped (I had great plans of running on the treadmill before the kiddos got up). I had just begun to feed Matt and Kayla breakfast when Anna called asking if we wanted to go over. Kayla figured out who I was talking to and said "Keely come to play"-- how could I deny this adorable plea-- especially knowing that Keely's leaving for Texas tomorrow morning, and won't be back for a week. So I threw clothes on the kids, and myself- and we headed out the door. After lunch at Keely's the kids were all getting tired so we headed home.

I needed to drop off Andrew's carsest (the boys spent the night at our house on Saturday) so I called Dana who asked if I could meet her at Darcy's. I kept the kids up on the way there by singing obnoxiously, and asking them if they could see the bus, trucks, or planes. Once we got there, the kids had to play with Andrew and Max, and I got to catch up with Dana and Darcy.

After Kayla fell down the stairs and Matt played in their toilet water, I knew it was time to head home for late naps (it was already 3:00). Well, it's almost 5 now, and I'm about to wake up my sleeping babies for dinner at Grandma and Cappy's (long story on the name). Anyway, it's nice to be busy 'cause daddy's not gonna be home till after 10 tonight... but crazy how fast the day flew by. I'm gonna be old before I know it :)

Rough Start

Well, its about 9:21 and I'm a little worried about making it through the rest of the day. Having to wake up 4 times with Matt last night, then early this morning for Jacob leave me feeling pretty dead. I've already had 1 can of Diet Coke, and I haven't felt any bursts of energy yet... we'll see. I'm hoping to jump start myself sometime soon. Wish me luck!
