wow, what a difference

This weekend has been SO crazy. Today since Kayla's been sick (she had 103.9 temp yesterday and it's been on and off again over the time) we didn't go to church this morning. So, we decided to make the best of the situation and get some stuff done. Saturday was home depot and other errands day (we bought kayla a cheap dresser for her room) and we had picked up paint for her room-- so we started that project at 8:00am this morning. A few hours later we had that done, a freshly cleaned bathroom, and a cut lawn. This was all before lunch.

We continued our working streak right till dinner-- when we decided to invite dave and laura over for some good eats. We relaxed with dave and laura enjoying Extreme Home Makeover, and now are ready for sleep (we're exhausted). Maybe I'll try to post pics of Kayla's "new" room tomorrow :)

Home Again

We're back, in case there was any question. :) Anyway, we had a great trip in Indiana. It was really nice being able to connect with Rusty, Renea and the kids (who have grown like crazy). All of the kids got along really well. Kaitie is only about 4 months older than matt and kayla, and Sam really enjoyed "mothering" them. Kids slept good there, and were angels in the car. Really couldn't have asked for more. Since Peter already posted a picture of the group, I'll just send you to his site to see the pic. Yesterday I spent attempting to get stuff back in order-- today I'm continuing that work. I swear, for every hour you're away on vacation, there's at least 2 of prep/clean-up to be done. I'm off to finish the laundry-- leaving you with this picture of Matt and Kayla watching Rusty play the "geetaaa" and sing-- their new personal hero.

Less Talk, More Action

In preparation for our trip tomorrow, I was determined to remove the coins that Matt and Kayla so lovingly put into our car tape deck (during their "great escape" a few weeks ago). Peter has been crazy busy with work and school, so rather than bug him to figure it out, I set out this morning during Jacob's nap to try to fix the problem at hand. (We need the tape deck to use our MP3 player and DVD player).

While Matt and Kayla played in the backyard, I first tried pliers and other tools to get the coins-- but that didn't work. I determined the only way to get out the coins would be to remove the entire unit. I called peter for approval (normally I start these projects then call him mid-way saying "don't be mad, but..."-- this happened yesterday when I tried to clean the sink drains out-- totally gross, and I totally should have never started-- btw, the drain's still leaking) and he gave me the go ahead-- and off I went. I ended up removing like 90% of the dashboard, which I later learned wasn't necessary, but in the end I got those 5 coins out and everything put back together and in working order. Bonus, I was so good at it that I didn't even need all the screws and have one left over ;) (k- so I must have missed one along the way, but it still works). Have a great weekend...

Three Cheers for Spring

The webber family is totally loving the warmer weather we've been having. Taking advantage of this, we've attended 3 parks in 2 days, played outside for hours, taken family walks, and the Kayla even swam- Matt splashed in the new pool (although it was quite cold-- they were begging to use their new pool-- and so I caved).

Matt man riding his bike.

Someone should tell that kids mom that 74 degree weather is not swimming weather...

Since Sunday, we haven't seen much of Peter (monday was a school day, and wednesday he had a contract work/dinner meeting)... I've had a few crazy mom moments, but I think we'll make it until tonight when Peter will be home-- and we're especially looking forward to the weekend, when we're supposed to go to Indiana to visit friends.

Well, I've gotta get cleaning (I hate to return to a messy house, and so far as I know the only way that will be avoided is to have it clean before we go) and packing-- we'll be gone for a whole night-- so we may need to remove the back seat of the van-- its not an easy thing packing for a long car ride, and overnight stay ;)

Easter Weekend

Another crazy, busy weekend in the Webber fam. Blogger isn't letting me post pictures, so I'll have to try again later.

Friday we enjoyed coloring eggs, eating good food, and visiting with family (and a Kaminski fam March birthday party). The evening ended with a bang (or rather a slam), as my uncle shut my Grandma's door while we were all outside-- locked out. An hour later, a locksmith brought an official end to the party by letting us in to get the rest of our stuff. Fun times :)

Saturday, Grandpa, Grandma and Jenn joined us for Bunnyville at the zoo. We had an excellent time, and really great weather. The kids got to see the Easter Bunny, and we enjoyed showing Grandma and Grandpa the zoo-- for some reason ALL of the animals were out and about-- so we saw some that we have never really seen before too :) After the zoo, Grandpa took us all out to lunch. We went home for naps and Grandpa and Daddy continued a search for a kiddie pool with a built in slide... we ended up with the display model from the third toys r us that was visited (who buys all the swimming pools before April?!?). The kids swam for a bit after their nap- while mom and dad cleaned up the van for next weekend's adventure. After that, since we hadn't packed enough into the day we went for a bike ride (we're trying to get in shape for our upcoming summer vacation in which we'll be doing a lot of bike riding). Peter and I were begging for bedtime to come!

Sunday, the Easter bunny visited and left many hidden eggs, and two giant Easter baskets. Then we went to church to celebrate the real reason for Easter-- JESUS.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28: 5-6

And we rounded out the weekend with an Easter/March (Boyes) birthday party at Grandma Sue and Cappy's. We had a slightly smaller crew, as some were on vacation and stuff-- but fun anyway :) When we got home, Dave and Laura were over, and hung out with us for bit... good times.

Well, it makes me tired just remembering all of the events of the weekend... hard to believe what we can do in three days. Tonight Peter's at school-- so I'm going to attempt to restore order to the house, catch up on laundry, and possible find time for a visit from Grandma Sue, Jilly and later Keely and Anna...

never a dull moment...

3 sleeping babies, and tons of laundry

In an effort to post more often, I'm gonna try to post now... although I have dirty laundry piled knee high down stairs-- honestly, where do all of these clothes come from?!?

Anyway, the zoo yesterday was wonderful. It was also really nice getting to chat with Anne, and catching up on what her family has been up to since we left Australia. She also loved on the kids a lot, and they were quite excited to see her again this morning (when she came to visit and see our house with Grandma Sue).

Jacob's back with us today, and we were happy to see him. Matt and Kayla told him about the zoo, and the animal noises. The kids were pretty cute playing ball together-- and my kids were surprisingly patient with Jacob-- I think this arrangement is pretty good for all the kids.

Well, they're all sleeping, so I can't waste precious nap time-- it's pretty much the only time anything gets done around here. Later.

Its beginning to feel a lot like Spring time...

Although I am getting better at blogging on a "regular" basis-- I still have a difficult time blogging as often as others-- maybe I need to write less. But, since its been awhile since my last post, I'll do my best to catch you up.

First things first. I have mentioned earlier about my kids ability to climb anything and everything. Well, last week-- my precious son decided to climb on top of his dresser during his nap. Apparently he was too afraid, or perhaps too tired to get down-- so he decided to nap on his changing table... here's a pic of when I checked on him

This weekend has been funpacked-- a family friend, Ann, has come to visit from Australia (she's here until Thursday) and we had an easter egg hunt run by soon-to-be aunt Laura (at their church-- with 400+ kids-- it was awesome). Also yesterday we celebrated easter with the webbers- also having another easter egg hunt-- the kids will soon be pros, although they think they're just "helping" pick up. Matt did take a bit of a tumble on his way to the park from Nana's, which has left his right side of his face with some battle wounds-- good thing he's pretty tough.

I think Grandma Webber took a lot of pictures, but it doesn't appear that we did, but here's an idea of their easter outfits and egg hunting :)

Today is a wonderful day-- in the 60's and we've already been out to play for over an hour. (We're also all in short-sleeved shirts). I pulled some of the toys out of the garage, Matt, Kayla and Jacob all had a great time "owside". Now I have three worn out kids, and a bathroom begging to be cleaned-- so I'm off :)

Can't wait until the zoo tomorrow (it should be in the 70's)-- very exciting!
