It's Chicken Pox!

I'm sitting here with Matt on my lap-- who has a pretty decent case of the chicken pox-- if many more come up, I'm going to start calling it a bad case. Poor little guy has no idea what's happened to his skin, and continues to insist that I kiss every single "boo-boo", each numerous times a day. So that's pretty much what I've been up to since monday-- adding insult to injury Kayla's been quite crabby (I'm sure her chicken pox case is on the way), and I've not been feeling well-- what a great way to celebrate one of the first great summer weeks (it should be in the 80's today).

To answer the obvious question- no they were not immunized-- we choose to wait and see if they got it before they were 10ish before immunizing them after we researched the safety, effectiveness and other concerns. And no, I don't regret that choice (yet).

I'll try to catch up more later.

"had a bad day again"

Well, it wasn't really a "bad" day exactly-- but one of those that you feel like you've taken a trip to the crazy house.

From pretty much early this morning it's been one interesting occurrence after another. I slept in this morning and didn't get a chance to shower (or work out) before Jacob got here. My kids slept in after waking up at 7 all week (when I could have slept in)-- okay, that's not horrible, just annoying. After I put Jacob down for his morning nap I turned on the TV and left the kids out-- for all you who have known my previous shower problems with escapee's and such- that problem's been solved by a tension rod to the door-- however, while in the shower I didn't hear Kayla screaming for me to take her to the bathroom-- resulting in an accident-- again, not such a big deal had mommy not -put her in "big girl" underwear this morning. Poor kid was pretty upset that "elmo" got wet. I'm happy to report that Kayla remembered to use the restroom twice while we were running errands this evening (although this is sometimes a pain) and was dry since her morning incident. I think we're on our way. Matt has also responded to the sticker program using the bathroom about 10 times in 3 days-- we'll see-- I'm hopeful :)

Matt was in a pretty trying mood-- one of those days where no matter what I say- it doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure he took more than his fare share of time outs today. Kayla was in quite the whiney mood-- but I guess what can you do- they're both two.

Anyway, there were a series of other unfortunate events, but the night ended up okay. We got to see Uncle "mak" before his fishing trip with Cappy and Uncle Kimball (he just got home from college yesterday night), played in the water table-- and ran errands... hopefully tomorrow is slightly easier.
