Friends!

Keely, Brendan and Anna came over this morning to play. Kayla got to hold baby Brendan and was SO cute with him. "He tiny, mom. Our baby tiny too". I think she'll do alright as a big sister. Matt is also quite interested in Brendan's happenings, but I think he like the gadgets that come with him almost as much (ie- the car seat and portable swing). Anyway, the kids had a good time playing. They haven't had as many playdates since the chicken pox and new baby as in the past.

Tomorrow, Grandma Lorraine's coming over before 'uncle' Dan's baseball game-- then we're heading over there to watch him play in the evening... which means I have a ton of stuff to do tonight. Well, dinner's almost ready...

PS- Uncle Mark-- if you're reading this there has been many requests for you and Kenzie to come over and play. You're the center of many conversations each day ;)

- "I call Mawk"
- "Mawk's funny"
- "where's Mawk, at werk?"

Wedding Bells

Dave and Laura were "wed" on Saturday-- which turned out to be a great day (good thing, cause we were outside, and bad weather would have not been fun). Anyway, we had a great time- the kids were adorable, and quite well behaved (especially considering their very short nap). Peter and I love Laura and feel quite lucky that she's now a part of the family.

Here's a couple quick pics of Matt and Kayla-- more to come later (we were pretty busy and only took a couple-- so when we get more, I'll try to remember to post them here or on the mothersite .

Yesterday we attempted to recover-- Peter and I are SO sore, and I am burned to a crisp. Yes, I remembered sunscreen for my kids, but both my husband and I forgot it for ourselves. We hit the mall in the afternoon to return Peter's tuck (as matt calls them) and then went to Build-a-Bear to spend the gift card that Dave and Laura got for the kids for standing up in the wedding. Matt made a Cookie monster, and Kayla a pink bear-- both decked out in expensive outfits too ;) Then we went to a quick dinner and went to see CARS at the theater.

The kids are still recovering, and quite crabby today-- I'm praying for long naps-- I have a TON to do this week!

It's been awhile

To my credit, I've wanted to blog for about 2 weeks now, but alas, my blogger would not work on my computer. One of those mysteries, that only my husband can fix (I have NO idea what he did to fix it either!).

To recap quickly, it's been a crazy few weeks!

Last week was our last week with Jacob. His mom needed to go back to work full time, so he's off to make new friends at day care-- we miss the little guy, but are looking forward to having a little more freedom to travel around town this summer in pursuit of fun activities.

My grandma Lois (mom's mom) has been quite sick. She had heart surgery on Tuesday, and we're praying that she does not have something wrong with her lungs other than the severe pneumonia that she has apparently had since January. Please keep her in your prayers!

Other than that, we've been running around tying up lose ends that have to do with Dave's wedding tomorrow. (ie- finding light pink sandals for Kayla, dress fittings etc). The rehearsal dinner was last night, and tonight will be spent packing up all the stuff we need for our marathon day tomorrow, and getting to bed early.

Anyway, more later-- lets just say we're all very much looking forward to our vacation in 10 days!

Round Two: Chicken Pox

Well, they're back! And this time Kayla's the lovely recipient. She started to break out yesterday and they keep on coming. She's actually quite excited to have "pox" after looking for them for the past two weeks. I'm pretty relieved that she's going to be done with them in a week, and should be mostly healed by Uncle Dave and Aunt Laura's wedding. She's doing great-- a little tired, but in a spectacular mood so far. And I'm feeling much better this week (a lot less morning sickness since Friday) so I'm ready to face this head on.

Onto more news-- WELCOME TO THE PLANET baby Brendan. Yes, Anna's baby finally decided it was time to stop "cooking" and join the real world on 6/3. He's SO cute (I'll post pictures once I get their permission). I missed the birth by about 2 minutes, but seeing as I'll be facing it shortly, that may have been a blessing. He's a real keeper, and weighed in at 9lbs 8ozs and 21 inches long. Continuing the tradition of large babies in my family. Believe it or not, he's no where close to the largest.

Since the kids are sleeping, I'm off...

And baby makes FIVE!

Yup, it's true... we've been able to spread the news this past week to our family that I am infact pregnant and due on January 13th, but seeing as I was nice enough to give my mom 2 extra weeks, I'm not counting on this little one until the end of January. My family likes to cook babies for as long as possible, and big as possible (my sister was 10lbs 2 oz and that wasn't much bigger than my mom's average).

It's totally crazy to me that we'll be a family of five in the beginning of 2007. Anyway, we're thrilled to be adding to our family, and excited for matt and kayla's new roles as "big brother/big sister" and my new role as circus ring master (we'll really be out numbered then). I'm looking forward to enjoying each moment with matt and kayla before the new little one, and really want to take advantage of the ease of having "one kid per hand" for the next few months.

Funny side note-- Kayla kept jamming her pacifier against me today-- I was like "kayla, what are you doing?" kayla says "my baby try my b". Haha, she's already sharing-- we'll see how long that lasts ;)

Waiting and Watching

Matt's officially healing from his chicken pox-- I can safely say that I do not regret the non-immunization choice with him. The only bummer is that we're still not able to see Anna and Keely (Keely hasn't been immunized, but this would be a really bad time to get the pox, cause her baby brother's due to arrive like last week).

Anyway, Kayla still doesn't show any signs of getting the chicken pox. Which to me would be a miracle, seeing as they share everything. So we're waiting. A week from today should be the last day that she could come up with it (at least in catching it from matt). I'm sorta hoping if she does get it, that it starts tomorrow or Sat (so peter can help me with the harder day or two).

I'm off to try to get some stuff done today-- either that, or try to find a way to budget the "Merry Maid's" ;) I'll let you know how that goes.

More sooner than later (hopefully).
