Busy week and weekend

We've had a pretty busy week or so...

Hitting the highlights

- On Thursday 'uncle' Mark and MacKenzie became engaged. Mark did an awesome job in his ring shopping and proposal, but I'm not biased or anything ;) We're SO excited for them both, and can't wait for their big day sometime next summer.

- On Monday we had a tenant move into my parent's condo. Finally... (that's about all I have to say about that).

- Friday we got together with Jacob (and his mom) for a play date. We've missed the little guy since he left at the beginning of the summer. Matt and Kayla were quite impressed that he's not a baby anymore (they continued to talk about it throughout the day).

- Saturday we reorganized the closets... something I've wanted to do for awhile now (all three). Kayla's clothes are now in her own closet, and Peter and I got rid of a lot of clothes from 5+ years ago.

- Saturday night we went to Danny's first game (played at Eastern Michigan). It was a ton of fun to watch, although unfortunately we didn't win. Dan played great though- (again, not biased)... anyway, better luck next week.

- Sunday we went to Keely and co's church (met up with Luke, Cooper and Aunt Jet who are moving tomorrow) for a 'block party'--- for the first time ever Matt and Kayla tried out some of the huge blown up jumpers/obstacle courses [despite that it's "wowd" (loud)].

Anyway, that was pretty much the week. Tomorrow we travel across town to buy a Christmas present for the Matt man, then to WHS to pick up some contract work I'll be doing this week. Peter will be heading off to his first day of work... that's about all the happenings around here.

~ The Boys Are Back In Town! ~

It's that time of year again-- time for Novi Football (one of my favorite weekly activities- which I'll deeply miss after this season when Dan graduates). Anyway, they had a scrimmage this past Friday and their first game is at Eastern Michigan next Saturday-- so I'm getting pretty excited :) Dan played great, and had two interceptions (although we missed them by seconds). The kids are also excited about watching football- but we'll see how good they can sit through the games this year. (I'm hoping for equally as good, if not better than last year).

Other than that, Peter and I hit the stores with the kids to try to finish up their fall/winter wardrobes. Geez, kids are expensive- kids should come with a warning label-- i.e.-- I may be super small and cute but I'll cause you to hemorrhage money, and I also can make two loads of laundry a day (and oh, I could think of so many more). Matthew also got his Halloween outfit (we've had Kayla's since last year) can't wait to show you pictures! Sorry for the randomness-- I'm off to bed because we have a play date tomorrow with Caleb and Nolan (and Charity).

Its a BABY!

Yesterday was the big ultrasound day-- the day that Peter and I were quite looking forward to finding out the gender of our newest addition. Unfortunately the baby had other plans keeping its legs firmly closed throughout the entire ultrasound. The tech had me moving to each side and kept bopping my stomach-- but alas, the baby was not interested in moving its legs. So, all we know is that we have a baby ;) I am having another ultrasound, as the four chambers of the heart were not clearly visible- so that will happen in about five weeks-- at which time we'll be hoping to find out then. Too bad, cause if it was a girl we were planning on painting two kids bedrooms (changing the girls/boys rooms) over labor day weekend. Oh well, what can you do. We are happy to report that everything else is looking good with the baby.

Today the kids and I are going to embark on a major cleaning spree. The house is driving me crazy-- so that's the plans-- we'll see how much gets done :) More later.

Wiggles and more

Tonight we took the kids to see the Wiggles in concert. It was not nearly as "painful" as Peter and I imagined it would be. We didn't have great seats to start with, but about half way through a man said he was leaving early with his family and offered us his floor tickets-- they were about 4 away from the stage-- absolutely awesome seats :) We met up with Keely (Anna, Dan and Brendan) and my grandma Lois with my aunt jet and the boys for a few minutes while the kids caught up. The kids had a ton of fun (especially Kayla who really enjoyed dancing around), and overall the night was a success.

Speaking of success... Peter was given his official job offer today for a new company he'll be working for. We're extremely pleased with the offer, and look forward to the many opportunities that peter will have for growth within this new position. God has been good.

Also, after many moons-- we're happy to report a lease has been signed on the condo-- another HUGE weight lifting off the family. We were helping my parents find a person to rent- especially after they did us the huge favor of purchasing the condo so we could buy our beautiful home.

We've also hit quite a few zoo nights, and had a great time last weekend with Grandma and Grandpa at the member's night (at the zoo). We were able to see a play, ride the train twice (for free) and do fun games and crafts-- we even saw an animal or two.

Monday Anna and I hit the mall with the little tykes and I had awesome luck as a shopper-- buying unreleased toys, getting a free $10 off coupon at JC penny, saving a bunch at Children's Place, and finding a Columbia coat for Kayla 70% off. Afterwards we stopped by for dinner at 'grandma' Sue's and visited with Mark, MacKenzie, Sue, Dan and Jillian.

We've been up to much more, but that's about all I can think of for now. So, until later ;)

Random Thoughts and Happenings

Each and every day Matt and Kayla are talking more-- making life very interesting and often quite funny. They're learning to string sentences together, and they don't always make sense :) We're full speed ahead with potty training-- and making considerable progress... we do still have about an accident each per day- but for 2 1/2 they're doing really well. It's looking good for us being done with daytime diapers/pull up's by the time the baby's born.

Speaking of the baby, Matt occasionally asks if the baby came (usually when he wakes up in the morning or after naps)-- when I tell him it hasn't, he says "oh, I not three" (which he desperately wants to be so he can chew gum- an arbitrary date I set so he'd hopefully stop asking). We should be finding out what the baby is (girl/boy) 2 weeks from today. We're still not sure if we're going to tell anyone... and we certainly haven't picked out names yet-- we're hoping knowing the gender will help with our decision making process... although the way we're going this may be baby girl or boy Webber for a couple years ;)

It's been super hot outside so I've been hibernating with the kids inside the air conditioning. I have pretty much confirmed to myself that I will not be moving south for the weather-- despite how much I hate cold weather. I really don't like boiling hot weather either- especially when pregnant. Anybody know anywhere that it's 68-80 degree's year long?

Well, excuse the lack of flow in this post-- trying to get a few thoughts down before baby Einstein's "number's nursery" ends :)
