We're Praying for Ethan Powell

Ethan is a little guy who was born 12/5/06 (just a few weeks before Julie), on 2/6/07 he was diagnosed with leukemia. He is very, very sick. On Monday he will have another test to determine if the latest chemo has been successful so he can have a stem-cell transplant (from his dad) or if it has not been successful, they have reached the end of medical interventions.

His website www.ethanpowell.com has specific prayer requests, as well as updates of his conditions and pictures of this beautiful baby boy. His parents are convinced that God is in control of their situation, and are strong in Him. Their faith is inspiring. Please pray for this little guy, and his family!

Emmy Update

Unfortunately, Janet did not leave with the Emmy. But she's still the best in our book. Not many people can say they were nominated... let alone that they were the reason for the nomination :) We love you Janet!

RACE for the Cure

Race for the Cure 2005

This will be Matt and Kayla's 3rd Race for the Cure, Julie's first-- and Peter and I have "raced" 4 times before this weekend. It's an awesome time, and we have thoroughly enjoyed racing in honor of my Aunt Sandy, and in memory of friends Julie and Sally.

If you would like to make a donation by web the link is here.... we are racing as a part of Grosse Pointe Public Schools (my aunt and another teacher "lead" this team).

Oh yeah, and be thinking of us in the 110 degree weather Saturday morning... I don't even need to check the weather- because somehow- race day is ALWAYS 110 degrees at 9am.

PS--- Janet's big night is tonight- be thinking about her... and praying for her sanity-- this has got to be intense leading up to the big moment. You can watch online at 11:00PM Eastern Time here.

I'm practically famous ;)

Through association, that is. My best friend, Janet was nominated for an EMMY! Who knew real people could get such distinctions? I'm super proud of all of the hard work she's put into her job. I'm so glad that she's being recognized in such an awesome way. Yea Janet-- we'll be cheering for the actual Emmy, but we're so proud of the nomination. You rock!

Edit to add:

The category is Outstanding Broadband Program - Variety. Winners will be announced at the tech Emmy's on Thursday. She works for Guiding Light as a producer.

Edit again to say: Janet's really the reason that the show was awarded this nomination. This is her department that was nominated-- and she's done TONS of work to build this department from nothing... I'm very proud :)
