Julie

In the theme of catching up, I failed to blog about my dear youngest child's second birthday (December 28th).

Julie has changed so much over the past couple months... here's the highlights.

- her favorite phrase is "I god (got) it"-- meaning, don't even TRY to help me!
- she sleeps in a 'big girl' bed (bottom of the bunk beds)-- and does pretty good, even at nap time.

- she is fully day time potty trained, and mostly night time trained... she decided to do this herself, with pretty much no encouragement from Peter and I... we were hoping that she'd wait to PT till after our trip to Disney

- she occasionally talks in paragraphs, always likes to let people know what she's up to, and sings with a cute little voice daily

- we've been teaching her about her tone of voice, so when we remind her that she's being demanding, or yelling-- she'll then whisper her request... it's super cute

- she thinks she's four, or five... and hates to admit she's only "2"

- she's still a mommy's or daddy's girl, but doesn't cry the second someone else looks at her anymore... (small steps)

- she can count to 16, and can sing the alphabet. She's always asking us the name of a letter when she sees one, but so far as I can tell, she can't read... yet ;)

- she may be Elmo's biggest fan ever. She's also an Abby Cadaby and Zoe groupie.

- she thinks that Kayla is the cat's meow, and LOVES to play with her big brother and sister.

A few weeks ago I referred to Julie as being my baby, and the lady asked how old she was... I laughed when I told her 2... my baby's growing up. And way too fast, but we're loving every day with her!

Many Thanks

Grandma 'Raine' and Aunt Lori, Uncle Jim and the girls weren't able to make it out to Matt, Kayla and Julie's KamFam birthday party due to the MAJOR storm the evening of the big party. Anyway, the kids and I met Grandma Lorraine at the mall a week later for dinner and fun, but we didn't get to open their presents in front of her... so when they opened at home, I snapped a few pictures so those who gave so kindly to them could see them "open" their gifts.
Without further ado-- thank you so much to Grandma, Aunt Lori, and Uncle Jim the girls.

* some of the picture qualities stink-- new camera, and Peter was out of town... my bad! I was on crowd control, clean-up committee, and the event photographer... Jack of all trades, master of none, I'm afraid.

Julie loved her new elmo dvd and book so much that she thought she'd taste it. ;)

Julie got a bath toy holder, bath toys and this towel as a part of her gift from Grandma Lorraine... here she's wondering when her next bath will be.

um, yeah, I don't know how to rotate this picture (peter, help!)... but Matt loved his Jungle Fury Power Ranger gear!
